And then there’s The Madison Building, a repurposed 19th century warehouse in downtown Detroit that’s been reborn as the newest hotspot for business and weddings alike–giving you a taste of both worlds! We love photographing weddings at the Madison Building because it has a grande and modern feel, yet still carries an intimate vibe. Detroit is a city rich in culture and history. Janiris and Payton wanted their wedding day to highlight Detroit, so they incorporated many of their favorite things about the Motor City into their big day. From Faygo pop and Better Made Chips to Coney Dogs and Maurice salads, they managed to bring all of Detroit’s best flavor right into the Madison Building for themselves and their guests!
The ceremony was held in the Madison Building loft, with large industrial windows offering great views of Detroit. Payton’s dad officiated the wedding which made it even more special. After reciting their vows and saying “I do”, they changed into more comfortable outfits so they could hit their reception dance floor on the rooftop.
And dance they did! Once Payton and Janiris had their first dance as a married couple, there was plenty of dancing to follow! The DJ kept guests on the floor all night long while the Tigers played a home game right below.
