Elizabeth and Anthony’s Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament wedding day was one for the record books! It’s not often we have a wedding day when the rain just doesn’t stop. Many times when it rains we get a little break finding a few moments to create outdoor photographs. This just wasn’t the case for Elizabeth and Anthony’s at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The news later called it a “once in one hundred years storm”. Freeways shut down because it rained so much. As a result many the massive flooding left people stranded. We had no choice but to work really hard to find the perfect portrait location.
Even with these obstacles, Elizabeth and Anthony had the most unforgettable wedding day. It was the kind of wedding day that we’ll remember for years to come. We spent a very incredible day working with them.
Why we love this Detroit Cathedral for weddings
Their ceremony was held at the Most Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit. It’s location and proximity to midtown meant we were able to create some unique wedding portraits of them. We were thoughtful picking our photo location, ensuring we had cover from the rain. Luckily we were able to find the perfect Detroit rainy day wedding portrait spot. This is one of the things we love about photographing weddings in Detroit. There always seems to be a place to go that offers a little cover if it’s raining. Elizabeth and Anthony kept their spirits high and the rain actually added an extra element of fun to their day!
Italian American Banquet Center Reception | Livonia, MI
We arrived at the Italian American Banquet Center in Livonia and knew we were in for a treat. The ballroom was recently renovated to perfection and Elizabeth decorated it with rich jewel tones and elegant details. The ballroom already showcased chandeliers and a marble dance floor, which provided the perfect backdrop for their first dance. As the rain continued to pour down outside, friends and family kept dry busting moves on the dance floor. Elizabeth and Anthony’s wedding day was full of love and laughter.
