It doesn’t get any better than taking wedding pictures at Henry Ford and the beautiful Lovett Hall. We are excited every time we get the honor of working there. The history, architecture, grounds and the elegance that Henry Ford and Lovett Hall brings to a wedding can really make the day sing. What we love the most about photographing weddings at Henry Ford is that they are very generous allowing couples to use all of the grounds as they see fit for photographs. We are often able to photograph wedding day portraits in Greenfield Village and the museum which can really add variety to our couples photographic experience. I love when our couples rent a classic model T to take them around Greenfield Village after the park closes because it gives us time and space to be creative and really create something incredible. We loved working with Rachel and Jon and their families! What an incredible honor!
Rachel and Jon’s story (in their own words):
It all started with a glance…on a dating app (how millennial of us)! Jon and Rachel had their first date on January 19, 2018 at a speakeasy in Jacksonville called the Grape and Grain Exchange while Rachel was on a rotation at a hospital there. They then had a series of wonderful dates, followed by trips back and forth from Gainesville. A couple of months into their new relationship, Jon invited Rachel on a trip to Virginia to meet his family, where she was welcomed with open arms and immediately felt like she was part of the family. Over the summer, they drove across the country on road trips to multiple weddings, where Jon met Rachel’s family and was embraced into their family, too. Fast-forward to October, 22nd 2018, Rachel had just returned from a month rotation in the Dominican Republic and it was her birthday. Little did she know, Jon had a ring hidden in his pocket throughout dinner. When they went for a romantic evening walk along the beach, Jon gave her the best two birthday presents ever: his heart, and a diamond ring. They are beginning an exciting new chapter in other ways, too; they will find out where in the country Rachel will be doing her residency in Pediatrics for the next three years. Who knows where they will end up, but their adventure begins!
