It is an incredible honor to photograph our couples and their families on a wedding day. Coupled with that honor is the responsibility to convey how important it is to spend the necessary amount of time needed to take family formal portraits. We already know this is the least fun part of the wedding day. It can be incredibly uncomfortable to stand still for 45 minutes so we can move your family in and out and all around you and snap away. We get it, we know! However, we have to talk about why these images are so important.

Believe it or not some of the wedding images you will treasure the most will be the family formals taken at your wedding. This is one of the only times in your life that we can gather together the people who love you the most, when they look their best and photograph them when they are at their happiest. We often hear couples who are on tight timeline tell us they want to limit the family formals to only parents, or skip out on them all together because of lack of time. While other photographers may ask that you limit family formal photographs, we respectfully disagree with this approach. Our answer to this problem is that you should add time to your day or arrange a first look so that you have time to take these images. This is where developing a realistic timeline will come in handy and we are more than happy to work with you to do just that. We've had the incredible honor and privilege of taking the last photographs ever taken of our couples loved ones, so please don't skip out on your family photographs.
